Lalala...I'm willing to admit to having House of Night and Vampire Academy.
They have more traditional vampires though, and it's not all about romance.

In response to the point you made, that an whole industry has sprung up to address the Bellice relationship:
On FF, here are the number of stories found for popular gay pairings:
Alice/Bella: 1,157 found * Rosalie/Bella: 276 found Victoria/Bella: 56 found Jane/Bella: 24 found
Alice/Rosalie: 110 found Alice/Jane: 6 found
Edward/Jasper: 310 found
Bellice fics completely blow other unlikely pairs straight out of the water (no pun intended for 'straight'). Half the slashes for other pairs aren't even about romance, whereas Alice/Bella slashes are almost all about their get together.
Just sayin'. I think it's awesome.

It is awesome. And very detective-like. That's awesome too!
Also, hi there. I don't think we've spoken before.

Riley is great and writes better stories than me. I write damned good stories. I'm glad she joined us.

Super late to this thread but I do credit meyer for giving us crap characters and a crap story to work on. That's not a compliment though and just makes me lose faith further in humanity. Meg, Star Wars is pretty funfilled. No idea what goes on in it but it's fun to watch. Avatar was super duper lame. It's only good things were The Sig and the graphics. No idea who won that argument between cyborg and enjoy but ima let it go.

JT i never disputed the shittiness of Meyer's writing, but her and that englishwoman got kids reading again.

PS The reference to Star Wars is in regard to Eragon's total adoption on of the plot in a fantasy milleau.

What about Meyer's reaction to the releasing of Midnight Sun?
"If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story."
Thoughts?

Lys, both Eragon and Star Wars use a style of narrative called The Hero's Journey. The Lord of the Rings is also an example of this as are a lot of really cheesy fantasy. But you're absolutely right, Eragon took the Hero's Journey point for point, although I'll let it go just a bit because the author started it when he was 15.

I don't think Rowling will, I think she'll write something else, but I doubt it'd be a sequel to HP, the series wrapped up too nicely.
Meyer just threw a bitchfit because it was leaked on the net. But I've known authors who regularly email their work to Beta's and none of their books ever get leaked. So she's clearly done something stupid if everything she writes gets leaked. And by something I mean leaked it herself.

True, but there's no threat of a big bad hanging over their heads.
