Okay, so I just received a review that was a bit rude, in my opinion, and I was wondering if you all would be as so kind to look at it and give me your thoughts. I will not give away the person's identity, but I will show you what they wrote.
What the hell? why give us a filler chapter? i want some meat. not this empty calorie chapter. urrgh. and eddie is a big dick. he really needs to get over himself.
So what do you think?

Well I don't know the context (Sorry megster I rarely read wolfie stories, the imprinting, though I've used it...well it creeps me out) but basically it sounds like a 12 year old male reviewer, I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, this isn't a wolfie story. And the next one I'm writing isn't a wolf story, well, there isn't any imprinting in it because Bella is a different type of wolf.
What I don't get is that she reviewed before.
Meh. I gave her my reason for the filler, I didn't want two Jacob fights back to back.

Funny, that reviewer also reviewed my bonus chapter and made me feel stupid for mixing the Yin-Yang thing up. Er...that's unrelated.
Honestly, I don't think that was a very mature way of reviewing. I don't get it, why do people have to complain about filler stuff when filler stuff adds to the chapters? In my opinion. I say that you ignore their remarks and if they continue, you have options on how to deal with it. I don't think you should let it deter you, though. There will always be those people who complain about things when they don't get their way.
I like filler stuff. I've defended myself on it (not too long ago, actually) and I will do the same for other authors, too. Having a story that rushes into things and just has constant action or constant drama aren't really that good to me personally. Having a good mix is good for the story and good for the readers.
That's just my two cents.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to do; lighten the mood with some Bella/Alice filler fluff. And it's only one filler chapter; it's not like I have five in a row, you know?

-.-
Well, having multiple filler chapters in a row CAN be a good thing, it just depends on the context of it. I mean, if it's pointless filler where you clearly see that the author is just trying to get reviews and there's no heart put into the chapter at all, then it's a problem. But if the author is trying to give readers important things, like adding depth to their characters, etc, then I think it's a bit more acceptable. That's how I see it.

I generally don't like filler chapters, though I'm guilty of it I like chapters to do at least one of two things.
1. Move the story forward 2. Develop a character
If it doesn't do either of those things than it just bores me. That being said when I read one, and feel inclined to review it I normally offer suggestions as to how things could have been changed to do one of those things.

Pacing can be just important as content, so they can be necessary sometimes.
I don't really feel that they were rude. Oh, they weren't polite, but they were really just bringing up a point that bothered them.

I agree Enj. I don't consider anything with either of those two components filler chapters. People don't understand depth these days. Everyone prefers Sparknotes over reading the actual work and having a connection with stories.
I wouldn't worry about it Meg, you can't get every to like your stuff. It just comes down to how yo feel about it.

Very true, I haven't read it so I can't decide if it would fit my definition of filler.

I mean, I give information about Bella and why she didn't freak out when she learned Alice was gay and why she has such an ease to kiss Alice even if she has a boyfriend. And I mentioned a party that happens that becomes important because it gets interrupted by a vision.
But yeah, they weren't polite. I understand if they wanted action, but I just had action last chapter and there's no way I'd have smut this early on.
That review was for Chapter Eleven and I have up to 24 written, so I'm not worried.

Well then it doesn't sound like a filler chapter.

Someone found this filler very-good, so I am now happy again and not concering myself with Ash- I mean that reviewer's not-so-polite review.
