Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not going to change it, nor will I try to.

No, no. You didn't. I was just saying so that people feel free to state who they like and don't like without getting hated on, you know?

So...hm. I think it's commonly known that I saw the first two movies BEFORE I started reading the books, hence why I may be a little biased in terms of who I feel fit the character and who I think did not. But hey, to each their own, as Meg said.
I am mixed when it comes to Kristen. Do I think she's good looking? I do. Do I think she can act? To be honest, I'm not too sure. Her acting wasn't that good to me in the films, but then again, considering who she was acting as, I do give her some credit. Bella was an awful character in the books and Kristen played as her, so meh. She did a little justice, but not much. In truth, I haven't seen much else with her to give an opinion on her acting ability. From what I've seen she's kinda okay, but not as good as she could be. That's just me.
Robert was blah. I thought he was decent in Harry Potter, but really, I don't much care for him, though I must admit that he pulled off the spiky haired douchebag look well. Ha. I have to agree with the earlier comment about the chest hair thing. It's disgusting. I'm a guy and I can't stand that crap, which is funny because some of the male actors look like "Neanderthals" (a term which my dear sister used and I laughed at) when they aren't acting. Anyways, his character sucked and even he thought his character sucked. But he did decent. I couldn't see anyone else being forced to play the horror that is Edward Cullen. But I may be wrong.
Lastly, Taylor Swi-I mean, Lautner. I am horribly biased against Jacob (like Edward), so I don't have much to say. I guess because I'm a guy I don't enjoy having to stare at his shirtless body all the damn time (it's aggravating, but it's Meyer's fault). I dunno. They made the movie Jacob seem not as much of a jackass as he should've been. But it didn't matter. Jacob was there to be eye-candy for the girls and that was about it. I give Lautner some credit for making his character a decent ass, but I can't give much perspective on the rest.
Now then, for the other characters. I loved Ashley Greene. I had no clue who she was when I saw Twilight, but she made Alice become my favorite character immediately. She's gorgeous and she looks ten times more awesome with short hair. I think that Jackson did amazingly well at Jasper's character. He was all creepy looking and stoic and violent when he needed to be, yet still calm and smart all the other times. Props to Jackson. I also give credit to Kellan, he pulls off the goofball Emmett fairly well, though he's a "Neanderthal" when not Emmett.
Peter, Nikki and Elizabeth were all good choices. It's funny since I saw Peter on that Nurse Jackie show once and he's the complete opposite of Carlisle, yet he pulls it off well. Elizabeth, in my opinion, pulls off Esme perfectly. She's very pretty and she does a good job with the sweet mother that got barely any screen time in the books. Most characters didn't, but I won't turn this into a Hollowgo rant. And then Nikki, who I'd never heard of (like just about everyone in the film, to be honest), I think did well as the bitchy Rosalie. So yeah. The Cullen family cast was fairly good, it just took some time for them to fit into their roles.
I think Julia was a good Leah, Dakota was a perfect Jane and the Volturi trio wasn't too shabby. Not much to say on the wolves since I couldn't care less about them. I agree that Rachelle was a better Victoria. Much better. I was pissed when she got replaced. Cam did a good James for what it was worth and I was pleased when Alice helped in his killing. Not quite sure who else to comment on.
Yeah, there's my opinions.

Yeah, in the books he was much more jerkish than in the movies.
And yes, Nikki does pull off the bitchy Rosalie and yes Rachelle was a better Victoria. I mean, they couldn't wait ten days to let her finish shooting her own thing before doing the Victoria scenes? There weren't that much...they could've waited.

They were impatient and that showed in some parts of Eclipse. You mentioned Esme's hair being the wrong color (which is true because I do recall that, it just never dawned on me until you mentioned it) and the changing of Victoria, which was ridiculous.

I think the Cullen family are all really well cast, but for me Ashley was just so much the perfect Alice, I couldn't imagine anyone else playing her. Peter, Jackson and Kellan are my other favourites. Bella, Edward and Jacob are not my favourite characters in the books or the films... and the actors did OK with what they had to work with I guess. I find Jacob irritating beyond belief, and for the love of all good and holy - wear a damn shirt! So to conclude, it's all about Alice really, and the perfection that is Ashley Greene!

Ooh, I can't stand Jackson. The only time he didn't make me cringe to death was in an episode of Criminal Minds. And that was when he was playing a cross-dressing psychopath who was drugged most of the time, which is nothing if not telling...
