The only problem is that only about 11% of South Africans can speak proper English. Therefore, communication sometimes is not very good. In addition, if you work with people that barely understand you because they never took English at school…. it gets a little frustrating.

It's the de facto language, but we have no established official language. Stemmed from back in the day when we were trying to accept everyone. Except for the Irish for some reason...and the Asians.. and the Jews...well, you get my point.
